Case Studies - Introduction

Here you will find case studies based on the experience of partnerships participating in the project. Each case study follows a similar framework:

  key features:
background and purpose
activities and involvement
performance issues and how they were addressed
actions taken and progress made
lessons

We include quotes from participants, as these bring out what people feel about their involvement.

These feelings are important, because subjective views of the value of partnership can often be features which make or break success.

The benefits of partnership working are often intangible, and many of the participants - especially from business - are present on a voluntary basis.

It is typical that, where there are frustrations and other negative feelings, these are left unexpressed, and while this situation persists, partnership progress can be undermined, and personal dissatisfaction can grow.

You may wish to take stock of views in your own partnerships: do the views expressed here have echoes in your own situation? And if so, what action do you need to take?
